"Churchies" is Engadine Anglican Church's schoolies alternative for students who have just completed their final HSC exams or equivelant aged workers.  Churchies aims to help our youth to transition from high school to whatever's next whilst also taking some time to relax and celebrate many years of schooling.

We rent out a few apartments within the same complex in Nelson Bay and will do a mix of activities during the week like a marine discovery cruise, quad biking, camel riding, we'll visit a shark and ray centre whilst daily digging into the bible together, praying and considering how to live for Jesus in the next stage of life. Please note we do not permit alcohol permitted on Churchies for safe ministry reasons and that all of our leaders are required to undergo a Safe ministry check, Safe ministry training and a working with childrens check before participating in our ministries.

Dates: To be confirmed but usually at the end of November and the start of December (we discuss the dates in April before booking the apartments to ensure we do not clash with school formals).

Location of camp: Bay Parklands, 2 Gowrie Avenue, Nelson Bay

Pick up and drop off at Engadine Anglican church

We will travel up by car, ideally by car pooling with the most experienced drivers (usually leaders) however youth may choose to drive up themselves if they like (with permission from parents.)

Cost: Churchies costs change depending on accomodation and activity costs but land approximately between $1000-$1300 in total. We ask for a non-refundable deposit of $300 by May 6th 2025. Then we meet together, plan the week and our youth minister works out and confirms the total cost. The complete payment is due 1 month prior to Camp.

IMPORTANT: The way our registration process works is that you register using this form and then secondly pay directly to our church accounting system so that you do not incur any additional transaction fee's. This means you will have the lowest price possible but also will be required to pay after you have registered here.

Please note down the payment directions below now so that you are able to pay after you have registered your child/ children.

Churchies will cost approx $1000-$1300 (for all meals, activities and accomodation) and a deposit of $300 is required by April 6th 2025.

If you are unable to pay the registration fee, please do not let that stop your youth from coming. Please contact our youth minister Dan by email if assistance is required. There is money set aside for this very purpose.

IF THE CAMPER REQUIRES MEDICATION ADMINISTERED

Please note only prescribed medication will be administered during the duration of the camp.

All medication must be clearly labelled with a pharmacy label containing the campers full name, dosage, doctors name and expiry date.

We ask that all medication be held and administered by the participant where possible and if they require a designated leader for assistance to please contact Dan before camp.

Photography Waiver:

Photo's and footage taken during activities on camp may be used for promotional material on the social media pages of Engadine and Heathcote Anglican Churches. If there is a particular reason that photo's which include your child cannot be used in this way please email youth@eac.org.au with a photo of your child attached so that we can ensure they are not placed on our promotional material.

INDEMNITY
By selecting "YES" in the box below i am indicating that i am the parent/guardian of the child/ren mentioned in this form and that i am willing to permit my child/ren to participate fully in all activities associated with the camp, including (but not necessarily limited to) those indicated in the program.  In the case of a medical emergency, I hereby give permission to the Doctor chosen by the Camp Director to secure proper treatment for and/or order hospitalisation, injection, anaesthetic, or surgery for my child/ren as named. I understand that every effort will be made to contact me prior to instituting such procedures. I also give permission for my child/ren to be transported to camp by car.

We have a few leaders cars (green P's and above) to transport youth but some youth prefer to drive their own cars or travel with peers. We will all stop for lunch mid-travel both on the way to Nelson Bay and on the return trip.
